In 2015, CDL launched the electronic defects management system that helps our Customer Service and Project Management teams as well as Main Contractors communicate and co-ordinate on a common platform to ensure that each new residential unit is primed for handover and requests for defects rectification are followed through.
Prior to this, hardcopy checklists were used to record the defects detected and rectifications required in the unit.
This manual approach sometimes captured incomplete information, was error-prone, and lacked transparency for stakeholders involved.
With the defects management system available in a mobile app, our Customer Service team can identify and record defects digitally and allow the Main Contractors to make right and prepare the residential units for handover to the homeowners.
Homeowners can conveniently book their appointments for key collections through My CDL Home – another innovative app that lets homebuyers view construction progress, track payment status, and more.
Once homeowners take possession of their residential units, they are given access to the defects management app to submit requests for rectification of defects identified in the units. The requests will set off follow-up actions by our Customer Service team and the Main Contractors. With the app, homeowners can monitor the status of rectification in real time on their mobile devices.
