Inspired by the timeless beauty of a quartz crystal, our flagship commercial icon in Raffles Place shines on.

Republic Plaza
Republic Plaza (Malacca Street Entrance)

As a leading developer in Singapore, we reshape our city’s skyline with every project we undertake. Yet there is one development we are particularly proud of: Republic Plaza.

Located in the heart of the Central Business District (CBD), next to Raffles Place MRT station, this unique rocket-shaped skyscraper was designed by Dr Kisho Kurokawa, one of Japan’s leading architects of the 20th century.

The 66-storey, 280-metre-tall edifice is a symbol of dynamism, boldness and aspiration towards phenomenal heights. It reflects the values that guided our transformation from a fledgling local developer to the global real estate conglomerate we are today.

Republic Plaza 1 received TOP in December 1995 and Republic Plaza 2 received TOP in January 1997. Making its mark as one of Singapore’s tallest skyscrapers, Republic Plaza was also the first Singapore development to clinch a FIACBI Prix d’Excellence Award in 1997.

Republic Plaza (Digital Wall)

The true beauty of Republic Plaza isn’t external but skin deep. Over the years, it has received various improvements to make it smarter and greener. In 2019, we gave it an extensive makeover to the tune of S$70 million.

The scope of works included enhancements to the arrival frontage, main lobby, smart lift, face recognition gantries and car number plate scanners to assist drivers in locating where they parked.

The retail podium was expanded to 24,100 square feet across three levels to better serve tenants and the denizens of the CBD.

The new lobby features a breathtaking 1,800 square feet digital LED wall – Singapore’s largest Ultra High Definition (UHD) LED wall in an office building with a rotating display of custom created moving art to give everyone a greater sense of arrival.

A Founder’s Gallery was also unveiled to honour the late Mr Kwek Hong Png, Founder of Hong Leong Group – CDL’s parent company.

New buildings have sprouted in the business district, but Republic Plaza continues to hold its own. Case in point: it recently received the Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy award from BCA for sustainable performance.

Ensuring that an iconic landmark of more than three decades can still look as stunning and run as lean as the latest Grade A skyscrapers that make up the Singapore skyline.
