Singapore, 15 May 2018 – City Developments Limited’s (CDL) 124-unit limited edition luxury freehold residential development, New Futura, has achieved overwhelming response. In January, Phase 1 of the upmarket development, comprising its 64-unit South Tower, was soft-launched and to date, 62 apartments (97%) have been sold, including the penthouse, achieving an average selling price (ASP) of over S$3,350 psf. The 7,836 square feet (sq ft) penthouse was sold for S$36.28 million or S$4,630 psf. 72% of the buyers were foreigners and permanent residents, mainly from Asia including China, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea.
Located on Leonie Hill Road in Singapore’s prime District 9, New Futura is highly desirable amongst well-heeled individuals. Designed by internationally renowned award-winning architect – Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), New Futura’s two distinctive 36-storey towers are within a 10-minute walk to the famous Orchard Road shopping and entertainment belt.
Following the robust demand for the South Tower, CDL has soft-launched the highly-anticipated Phase 2 of New Futura, comprising the 60-unit North Tower. The preview started on 11 May 2018 and in the first weekend alone, 21 units (70%) of the 30 units released have been sold at an ASP of over S$3,500 psf. Majority of the units sold were bought by permanent residents and foreigners, and they were the larger apartments of up to S$10 million each.
Mr Chia Ngiang Hong, CDL Group General Manager, said, “We are very pleased with the strong response for New Futura. The Singapore residential market has continued to show promising signs of recovery. Propelled by pent-up demand, sales volumes are strengthening and property prices are trending up especially for high-end projects with strong value proposition. Foreigners are also returning to invest in Singapore’s high-end property market given the city’s attractiveness, economic stability, price recovery and value. New Futura is CDL’s most luxurious project to date. With its exceptional attributes, we are confident that New Futura will continue to attract savvy buyers and investors.”
