Every tower we raise, every block we build is the result of seamless collaboration and teamwork.
When everyone is on the same page, working towards the same goal, the end result is usually better and of a higher quality.
Now, things like this do not happen overnight.
It takes years to build a strong team and foster a productive work culture.
There’s an adage that City Developments Limited (CDL) believes in and encourages among all partners in our value chain:
The team that plays together is also the team that embraces each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
When everyone is on an equal playing field, the final score is stronger rapport and genuine connections.
Enter the CDL 5-Star EHS (Environment Health and Safety) Sports Challenge.
An annual event that brings together our migrant workers, sub-contractors and consultants.
Teams from various CDL work sites compete in a series of tele-matches which included games like tug-of-war, human wagon race, ‘hamster wheel’ race, sack race and relay run.
For fans and supporters, there are off-field game stations and educational exchanges covering a spectrum of Workplace Safety practices.
The Sports Challenge was paused in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic and resumed in 2022. CDL is looking forward to hosting another one this year.
When builders come back on their day off, work is usually more fun.
