Singapore, 23 September 2015 – With the recent increase in household income ceiling for Executive Condominiums (EC), more eligible homebuyers can look forward to the launch of a quality and attractively-priced housing option in the up-and-coming Yishun hub. Developed by Singapore’s leading property developer City Developments Limited (CDL), and TID Pte. Ltd., The Criterion EC in Yishun overlooks the Lower Seletar Reservoir and Orchid Country Club. It comprises 505 units in ten 13-storey blocks.
Applications for eligible EC buyers will start from 24 September to 4 October 2015. Bookings will be conducted on Saturday, 10 October 2015. A good mix of apartment types is available for selection with sizes ranging from 700 square feet (sq ft) for a two-bedroom to 1,636 sq ft for a penthouse. Recognising that different families have different lifestyle requirements, select units offer the option to customise rooms with flexi layout and configurations. These options are especially useful for multigenerational families who need more living space, or individuals who may prefer to have more personal space. Moreover, the four-bedroom premium apartment comes with a luxurious wardrobe and ensuite bathrooms, which is a rarity in ECs.
Mr Chia Ngiang Hong, Group General Manager of CDL said, “Homebuyers can look forward to an attractively-priced project by a trusted developer with a strong track record.”
The Criterion is CDL’s eighth EC project. The first six ECs – The Florida, Nuovo, The Esparis, Blossom Residences, The Rainforest, and Lush Acres – are fully sold. CDL’s recently-launched The Brownstone in Sembawang, which is located right next to the upcoming Canberra MRT station, has been well-received and it is one of the best-selling ECs this year.
Mr Chia added, “Together with our sister companies, we have built more than 46,000 homes over the past 50 years. In today’s challenging economic environment, when investing in a big ticket item like your home, experience and track record are vital factors to be carefully considered. CDL has constantly stayed at the forefront of design and innovation, and is committed to delivering high quality homes. The Criterion will provide several first-of-its-kind wellness features and state-of-the-art technology that cater to homebuyers’ evolving lifestyle needs and expectations.”
Designed for Wellness and Comfort, with Facilities for Everyone
The Criterion will be the first EC to provide the Panasonic inverter air-conditioning system with nanoe-G air purifying function in all units. This advanced air-conditioner purifies the air by using nano technology fine particles consisting of ions and radicals.
With 58 facilities, The Criterion is one of the ECs offering the most number of facilities. The facilities come in six thematic Haus – Club Haus, Spa Haus, Canoe Haus, Green Haus, Bike Haus and Play Haus, so there is something for everyone in the family. Activities range from garden dining, community farming and campfire barbecues, to yoga, cycling, swimming, starlight dining, and more. The Criterion is also the first EC to provide electric bicycles with solar charging station, offering residents a green mode of transport and supporting green living.
Designed for wellness and optimum comfort, majority of the units are North-South facing which minimises the buildup of heat from the rising and setting sun. Most units are configured to allow natural and cross ventilation, making the most of natural lighting and living spaces. The apartments are also outfitted with luxurious finishings and premium fittings and appliances from brands like Hansgrohe and Whirlpool and compressed quartz kitchen countertop.
Residents can also enjoy the microbubble spa at the Spa Haus. This revolutionary form of hydrotherapy developed in Japan brings about health and beauty benefits, and is the first time introduced into an EC project.
Convenience of Connectivity and Comprehensive Amenities
The Criterion is situated near the Khatib and Yishun MRT stations, and well connected to the city via Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards Central Expressway (CTE) and Tampines Expressway (TPE). The upcoming North-South Expressway (NSE) and Thomson MRT Line are scheduled to be completed in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Under HDB’s "Remaking our Heartland” programme, Yishun is also set to be transformed into a vibrant hub, with the provision of new and enhanced facilities. For instance, when ready by 2018, Northpoint City, Singapore’s largest suburban mall, will feature a community club, an air-conditioned bus interchange, a town plaza, roof top community garden and childcare centres.
Shopping will be a breeze as The Criterion is near several major shopping malls such as Sembawang Shopping Centre and Northpoint Shopping Centre. Foodies will also be delighted with a great variety of food and beverage options, from hawker fare at the well-known Chong Pang Market & Food Centre, to restaurants and cafes. Nature lovers can revel in enjoying the greenery and relax at the nearby Yishun Pond, Yishun Park and Seletar Park.
For families with children, there is a good selection of schools nearby – with Naval Base Primary School, Chung Cheng High School (Yishun), Northbrooks Secondary School and the upcoming GEMS World Academy Singapore well within a one-kilometre radius. Other nearby institutions include Yishun Junior College, Republic Polytechnic and Innova Junior College. Also serving the area for healthcare needs is Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, which will be joined by more healthcare facilities such as the Yishun Community Hospital in the coming years.
