Singapore, 2 December 2016 – City Developments Limited’s (CDL) Gramercy Park has been named ‘Best Residential Development (Gold)’ at the MIPIM Asia Awards 2016 ceremony held on 30 November 2016 at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Hong Kong. The Awards set the benchmark for excellence in the property industry, recognising the best projects in the Asia Pacific region. After selection by an esteemed jury comprising industry experts and a vote by delegates of MIPIM Asia, an annual property leaders’ summit, winners were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze recognition.
Gramercy Park is a new luxurious freehold residential development with an exclusive address along Grange Road in District 10, one of Singapore’s most desired and prestigious neighbourhoods. A stroll away from the famous Orchard Road shopping district, the 174-unit Gramercy Park is also the latest landmark to join embassies and Good Class Bungalows in the area.
Mr Grant Kelley, CDL Chief Executive Officer, said, “Over the years, CDL has developed many iconic projects that shaped the skyline and set new benchmarks for urban living. It is an honour for Gramercy Park to be recognised as the best-in-class for residential property development. Besides its enviable address, Gramercy Park stands out with its unique sculptural design. It also sits on an expansive freehold site of about 170,000 square feet in the prime District 10, which is extremely rare in land scarce Singapore.”
The sleek modern façade of Gramercy Park’s two curvilinear towers makes it a statement piece synonymous with the prestigious Grange Road neighbourhood. Beyond aesthetics, the façade’s high performance low-emissivity double-glazed vision glass and sun-shading fritted glass panels minimise heat penetration, reducing energy needed to cool the interiors.
Combining sophisticated linear minimalism and the opulent gardens of Ficus “Green Gem” luxury resorts, Gramercy Park’s landscape features plants with upright and stately linear forms and free flowering gingers as framing accents. At the heart of the expansive estate sits a perfectly manicured Grand Lawn, which is beautifully illuminated come nightfall. Mirroring in symmetry, a 50-metre Grand Pool lies alongside, while a lush Wooded Trail completes the vista.
Gramercy Park was soft launched in end May this year. All the initial 40 units soft launched were sold and another 10 units were released. To date, 84% of the 50 units have been sold. CDL is planning to officially launch the project in the first half of 2017.
At the Awards, CDL also received ‘Best Innovative Green Building (Gold)’ for H2O Residences in Sengkang, Singapore, and ‘Best Hotel & Tourism Development (Silver)’ for M Social Singapore and UP@Robertson Quay.
These accolades add to a series of awards that CDL has received recently for development excellence. At the South East Asia Property Awards 2016 held in November, CDL was accorded five awards including top honours as ‘Best Developer’ in Singapore, ‘Best Condo Development’ in Southeast Asia and ‘Best Luxury Condo Development’ in Singapore for Gramercy Park. Organised by online property portal group PropertyGuru, the South East Asia Property Awards recognise high calibre work within the Asian real estate industry, encompassing construction, development, architecture and interior design.
In October, two of CDL’s developments in Singapore – The Palette in Pasir Ris and H2O Residences – emerged as respective winners of the Residential (Mid-Rise) Category and Sustainable Development Category at the FIABCI Singapore Property Awards 2016, one of the highest industry honours given out to projects with outstanding innovation, architectural design and creativity.
