CDL was accorded the Merit Award for Sustainability Reporting in 2009 in recognition of its inaugural stand alone social and environmental report published in 2008, entitled Reaching Out. It was the first CSR report published by a Singapore-based company to have been successfully checked by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The report was prepared in accordance with the GRI G3 Guideline launched in October 2006 and met the Level C requirement of the GRI Application Level Criteria.

Affirming CDL’s commitment to being a socially responsible and environmentally-friendly organisation that advocates a "Safe and Green" corporate culture, CDL achieved the ISO 14001 certification for all functions at headquarters in 2008. In 2003, CDL was the first Singapore property developer to be awarded the ISO 14001 certification by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) for Property Development and Project Management. In 2007, CDL’s Property Management division achieved the ISO 14001 certification for 14 investment properties.
